Saturday April 19 - 12pm-4pm - Intro to Glass Painting with All Floating in Glass

$200.00
sold out

During this 3.5-4-hour beginner class we will cover all the basics of vitreous kiln fired glass painting! Over the course of the class we will do two separate exercises on two 6x6 clear glass sheets. The first will be a simple line exercise to get accustomed to the tools. The second will involve painting multiple layers for matting and shading techniques. In class we will only utilize black and white images but we will go over the difference between grisaille paint, silver stain, and colored enamels. We will also discuss kiln schedules, equipment, what glass is best, and what brushes to use for different techniques.

Finished pieces will not be available the day of the class, as they need to be fired in a kiln which takes around 8 hours. You will be notified within one week when the finished pieces are available for pickup at ATL Glassworks. Shipping arrangements can be made if later in-store pickup is not possible.

Each class is limited to four students so everyone gets plenty of personalized instruction and assistance. At the end of the class you will have the knowledge and confidence to begin working on your own projects independently.
